Deaf Awareness
This is a wonderful opportunity to become more aware and informed about struggles, language, Deaf culture, organizations and businesses, both domestically and the international Deaf world.
Let’s do our part to engage in making our world more inclusive for Deaf and hard of hearing individuals!
We have asked and collected responses from some Deaf individuals who shared their experiences living with hearing families in order to understand their perspectives of what it is like to be a Deaf person living with hearing individuals. Please take your time to read the responses and hopefully this helps you to learn and build a strong relationship with your Deaf loved ones.
You may be aware about the secret wish list from Deaf individuals that they wanted their hearing family to know. Now we decided to switch the roles of the Deaf family. We have asked and collected responses from some CODAs/KODAs (Children/Kids of Deaf Adults) who shared their experiences living with deaf families in order to understand their perspectives of what it is like to be a hearing child living with a Deaf parent or family. Please take your time to read the responses.
